Refugees threatens to boycott elections

The refugees of 1947 have threatened to boycott the forthcoming general elections, if the state government fails to meet their demands which are pending from last many years.
This was decided in a meet held here today under the banner of Sharnarthi Action Committee. The meet was chaired by chairman of the committee Amrik Singh who said that since the refugees are urging the state government to register their claims of moveable and immovable properties left in PoK in 1947 as the both countries has decided to resolve their different bilaterally.
He further added that since the large number of refuges would have to play a major role in deciding formation of new government, besides the members would adopt the path of protests and also start jail bharo andolan in favour of their demands. Among others who spoke on the occasion were, Dr. Kulwant Singh, Jagjit Singh, Mohinder Singh Param Jit Singh, Kultar Singh and Tarlochan Singh.
