City police today arrested sixteen gamblers while they were gambling at public place in Mubarik Mandi here today. Giving details, sources said that on a tip off, SDPO city Sawantarta Arora along with police party raided the spot and arrested sixteen gamblers from the area.
They arrested have been identified as Subash Chander, Rajinderpal, Sushil Kumar, Sanjay Saith and Kishore all residents of Panjtirthi, Kulbhushan r/o Sainik Colony, Farooq Ahmed r/o Mastgarh, Manohar Lal, r/o Uttarbeni, Pushap Kumar, Shyam Lal r/o Tangawali Gali, Sanjay Sharma, r/o Jain Bazaar, Jagdish Kumar, Rahul resident of Mubarik Mandi, Rakesh and Randeep residents Panjtirthi.
Police said it has been receiving information that some people used to indulge into gambling in the area besides using vulgar language. Pertinent to mention that Girls’ Higher Secondary School is near to the spot from where the gamblers were arrested. Meanwhile police has registered a case and interrogation of the gamblers was on, sources said.
