| Bajwa for rail link to R S Pura | | Also seeks Metro rail in Jammu | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | mar 13 Member Parliament T S Bajwa while speaking on the Railway Budget in the parliament, supported the UPA Government’s Railway Budget and appreciated the same. Speaking in the Rajya Sabha, Bajwa thanked the railway minister for starting the Rajdhani Express train daily from Jammu to Delhi. Bajwa also thanked the minister for extending the “Garib Rath’ train to Jammu. Bajwa also welcomed the announcement of railway minister for extending the railway line from Jammu to Poonch via Akhnoor but demanded that it should be linked with the Kashmir valley to reduce the distance for the Rajouri Poonch people by about 300 Km who wants to visit Kashmir valley. Besides this Bajwa also demanded in the parliament that a train from Jammu to Nandher Saheb in Maharashtra to be started once a week as the Sikhs are celebrating the 300 years of “Guru Manyo Granth” and a large number of Sikhs residing in J&K state are willing to participate. He said it will give a direct assess to the Sikh pilgrims. While raising the demands of the locals in the parliament Bajwa demanded that a metro train should be started in Jammu to reduce the heavy rush of traffic in Jammu city. Bajwa also demanded starting railway link from Jammu to RS Pura as it existed before 1947.
