| Medals for 21 cops | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Mar 13 As many as 21 Police officials ranging from Inspector General to followers and SPO have been nominated to medal for their extra-ordinary commitment to the service, particularly in the anti-militancy operations. Director General of Police, Mr. Kuldeep Khoda today announced 21 "Parakram Padak" Medals for various ranks of Jammu and Kashmir Police in recognition of their extra-ordinary commitment while performing operational duties on anti militancy in the state. The decision was taken at Police Establishment Board meeting headed by Director General of Police here today. During the meeting nomination of all the cases were examined and decision about awardees taken with due consideration and in light of norms framed by Ministry of Home Affairs. The awardees include IGP, Jammu Zone, Mr. K. Rajendra Kumar, DIG Trainings (PHQ), Mr. Ravinder Kotwal, S.P.Handwara, Dr. M. Haseeb Mughal, Dy. S. Ps, Mr. Javaid Iqbal Mattoo and Mr. Faisal Qayoom, Inspector, Mr. Shabir Ahmed, SIs, Mr. Jatindervir Singh Chib and Mr. Abdul Hamid, Head Constable, Mr. Radha Krishen, Sgct: Mr. Sob Chand, Constables, Mr. Gharu Ram, Mr. Randhir Singh, Mr. Lakhvinder Singh and Mr.Shafaqat Hussain, Mr. Ghulam Nabi Pathan, Mr. Shabir Ahmed, Mr. Bashir Ahmed, Mr. Firdous Ahmed, Mr. Mohammad Muzaffar, Follower, Mr. Moninder Kumar and an SPO Mr. Mohammad Rafiq. While announcing the medals, Director General of Police expressed satisfaction over the performance of policemen in tackling the militancy and in the process protecting lives and properties of the citizens of the state. He recounted supreme sacrifices made by policemen during the past 19 years of turbulence. He further desired that day-to-day policing should also seek to address the problems of the people besides generating sense of security amongst them. These objectives could be better achieved by strict discipline, hard work and devotion to the duty, he observed.
