| SS flays Zora on outside labour issue | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Mar 14 Shiv Sena very strongly criticises the announcement made by Industry Minister Nawang Ringzin Zora for allowing 50% labour from outside the state to industrial units thus reducing avenues of employment for local workers. In a meeting of State working committee held today, President of the State unit Sh. Rajesh Gupta warned the State Government and especially the Industry Department of unwarranted circumstances when local workers may be forced to a violent agitation for want of employment. He emphasised that at a time when youth of the State is in frustration for want of employment opportunities, our Industry Minister has gone out of the way to please a handful of Industrialists who are otherwise minting the State exchequer by way of incentives of Sales Tax, Excise, Income Tax and subsidised Electricity Tariff, they are being allowed to import labour from outside the State too. This import of labour will not only add to sharing of employment opportunities which otherwise are principally created for local youth but will also end up in sharing of natural resources and civic amenities. It requires to be probed that what prompted Minister to announce such relaxation against the interest of local population. Shiv Sena warns the State Government that implementation of this policy made lead to a violent struggle by the local youth to push back the workers from outside the State in the future. All senior Shiv Sena functionaries of State unit including sh. Sanjay Mahey, Sh. Raj Kumar Grover, Sh. Hardev Sharma and Sh. Shashi Abrol were present in the meeting besides representatives from all district units. Shiv Sena appeals to the State Government to issue strict orders to the Industrialists to employ minimum 90% of the staff strength locally, if they want to avail incentives and can employ a maximum workforce of 10 % only , and that too only in case workers of some specialised skill are not available locally. A strict implementation policy linked with availing of incentives is required to prevent a second phase of militancy on the issue of employment. |
