| Revenue official arrested while accepting bribe | | | Early Times Reporter

The State Vigilance Organization today caught red handed Ghulam Mohammed Bhat, Patwari Halqa, Pallar Budgam while accepting bribe of Rs.2000 for obtaining extracts of the revenue record of his land.
According to official reports, one Abdul Rehman Wani s/o Sonaullah Wani r/o Check Kaley Khan Budgam lodged a written complaint with the organization alleging therein that he had applied for extracts of the revenue record of his land measuring 2- 3/12 kanals situated at Check Kaley Khan for purpose of selling the said land. The concerned Patwari, the complainant said, demanded Rs. 2000 as illegal gratification from him before issuing the extracts.
The report further said that upon the complaint a case FIR NO 10/2008 was registered and investigation taken up. In the course of investigation, the Vigilance officials laid a successful trap during which Ghulam Mohammed Bhat, Patwari Halqa Pallar Budgam was caught red handed while accepting bribe of Rs. 2000 from the complainant. The tainted money was recovered from his possession in presence of the independent witnesses, the report said, adding that the hand wash also tested positive. The extract of the revenue record of the land of the complainant which was recovered from the Patwari was also seized. The accused was taken into custody for further investigation, the report added. |
