| Supreme Court upholds KAS list | | | New Delhi | Mar 14 A Division Bench of the Supreme Court comprising Justice C K Thakker and Justice Altmass Kabir today in a landmark judgment has upheld the list of selected KAS candidates declared by the Jammu and Kashmir State Public Service Commission on April 21 last year. The Division Bench, after a delay of eleven months, pronounced the decision in the case of Pankaj Sharma v/s State of Jammu and Kashmir and out rightly dismissed the petition challenging the selection list on flimsy grounds. The majority of the petitioners were not falling in the new criteria arrived at by the PSC on the directions of the High Court and their one point agenda was to harass the selected candidates either by delaying the process or dragging the case to the Supreme Court. The petitioner’s counsel advocate Prof Bhim Singh stands exposed as a ‘Maverick’ working for his own political interests. Singh, the report said, basically tried to get a political mileage out of this issue. |
