On the completion of 10 years as AICC president, a function was held at Brijnagar (R.S Pura) today in which achievements of the party under the stewardship of Gandhi were highlighted.
The function was organized by vice president Pradesh youth congress, Pawan Raina. Speaking on the occasion Raina said that when Sonia Gandhi took over as president AICC the party was in shambles and the activists were in search of a dynamic leadership. The communal forces were raising their ugly heads and posing threat to the unity and integrity of the country. Despite all odds and hurdles gave a strong leadership to the party and took it to new heights. She dared to serve the nation and repeated the history of sacrifices by rejecting the chair of prime minister of the country. Raina appealed to the youth of the Jammu and Kashmir to prepare themselves for the forthcoming elections in the state and strengthen the hands of chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad who has done to tremendous job for bringing peace, progress and prosperity in the state. Other who spoke included Bachan Lal, Ashok Bhagat, Ashutosh Sharma, Chandram, Gurmit Singh, Tilak Raj, Kirpal Singh, Mangat Ram and Janak Raj. |
