| ‘PDP leadership is habitual of creating controversies’ | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Mar 14 Criticizing the ruling Peoples Democratic Party of playing with the sentiments of people, National Conference today castigated the party for being habitual of raking up un-necessary controversies, when there exist none. Reacting to the statement of PDP leader Nizamuddin Bhatt, the NC spokesman said that the party (PDP) has seen its debacle happening in the forthcoming elections and its leaders in a state of frustration are creating unnecessary controversies by playing with the sentiments of the people. The spokesman, while denying the statement attributed to party patron, said that Dr Farooq Abdullah has NEVER said that "Muslims are militants". "During an interview, Dr Farooq actually has said that because of the actions of the few misguided Muslims, the entire Muslim community is being dubbed as militants, which is most unfortunate and un-called for", the spokesman said. Dr Farooq, he said, had further urged the entire world to not look at every Muslim with suspicion and urged the world Muslim community to isolate these elements who have brought bad name to Islam and take positive steps to clear the suspicion. The spokesman said that Dr Abdullah who is true Muslim strongly believes that Islam teaches peace and harmony with dignity. He said that people like those in the PDP have no business whatsoever to give sermons on Islam because entire state knows as to how its own leadership is violating certain basic principals of Islam in their daily life and conduct. |
