Several deputations call on Azad

Several deputations and individuals from various parts of the state called on Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad here last evening and apprised him of their problems and development needs. These included from Budhal, Darhal, Billawar, Hiranagar, Nowshera, Udhampur, Chenani, Khour, Nagrota, Samba and Jammu.
A deputation from Budhal-Darhal led by Th. Puran Singh MLA lauded Chief Minister for providing immediate funds for upgrading Rajouri-Darhal road and improving and modernizing healthcare facilities at district hospital Rajouri. The deputationists also projected several demands pertaining to the development of the area. Another deputation from Hiranagar led by BCC President Jagdish Dogra while apprising Azad about their demands, appreciated the measures taken by Chief Minister for speedy progress and prosperity of the people of the state. They said that the bold initiatives taken by him have already started yielding discernible results on ground. Vice Chairman Scheduled Castes Board and MLA Hiranagar Girdhari Lal was also present. A deputation from Sunderbani-Nowshera led by Dr. Romesh Sharma MLA met Azad and demanded opening of a degree college at Nowshera, launching of special recruitment drive for youth of the border areas of Rajouri district and addressing problems of border migrants of the area. The deputation from Billawar in Kathua district led by Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma MLA urged Chief Minister for construction of bridges at Juthana and Dhannu-Parole over Ujh and according tehsil status to Ramkote. A deputation from Chenani area of Udhampur district led by Narinder Sharma called on Azad and urged for setting up of a mini-hydel project at Dudu. They also demanded expeditious completion of various works taken up under Patnitop tourism development authority. They thanked him for upgradation of Chenani-Sudhmahadev road and government high school at Kud to the higher secondary level and pleaded for providing adequate staff for this school.
The deputation from Kathua led by President Municipal Council Kathua Naresh Sharma called on Chief Minister and urged for provision of more funds for development of this town.
XA deputation from Khour block led by Suram Singh appreciated the path-breaking initiatives taken by Azad to eradicate corruption, ensure healthy work culture and good governance besides unfolding a new chapter of massive infrastructure development across the state. Making a special mention of creation of new administrative units in the state, the deputationists said that these would ensure faster development of all the areas. They also apprised him of the development needs of the area.
The deputation from Samba urged for opening of a dispensary and anganwari centre besides upgradation of primary school at Mananu. The deputationists led by Subhash Bhagat also demanded setting up of a grid station at Benglar and upgrading healthcare facilities at Samba hospital. A deputation from Nagrota led by Hamid Choudhary pleaded for taking more steps for ensuring all round development of the area. Another deputation from Kathua district urged for creation of a tehsil at Ghagwal. A deputation of KAS main examination drop-out candidates met Azad and apprised him of their demands. Another deputation of sarpanchs of Jammu district led by Shamsher Singh also called on Azad and apprised him of their demands.
Chief Minister gave a patient hearing to the deputationists and assured to look into their demands sympathetically. In several cases, he issued on-the-spot instructions to the concerned authorities to address the problems of the deputationists.
