| CB presents charge sheet against bank employee in cheating case | | | Early Times Reporter

Crime Branch today presented charge sheet against the accused for producing fake and forged qualification and date of birth certificate for securing promotion in the bank.
Following receipt of a complaint from the employees of the Bank alleging therein that some employees of the Central Cooperative Bank Anantnag have produced fake and forged qualification/date of birth certificates to secure promotions; the Crime Branch took up investigations in the case. During preliminary enquiry the act committed by the accused prima-facie disclosed offence punishable u/ 420,468/471 RPC. Accordingly the CB registered a case for in depth investigation.
During the course of investigation records pertaining to the case were seized and persons well versed with facts were examined. It came to surface that accused Abdul Majeed Dass s/o Sona-ullah r/o Akingam, who was working as a chowkidar in the Central Cooperative Bank since 1996 was 9th pass only, had produced a fake matriculation-cum-date of birth certificate before the bank authorities through which he was promoted as Junior Cashier. The date of birth in the fake certificate was April 1, 1963 when his actual date of birth was April 1, 1959.
On the basis of investigation a prima facie case of cheating was established against the accused and accordingly charge sheet of the case was presented before the Court for judicial determination. |
