| DDC reviews functioning of Childline | | | Early Times Reporter

To review the functioning of the Childline, which is a project of the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India and locally being run by the Jammu District Branch of the India Red Cross Society, District Development Commissioner Hirdesh Kumar Singh today convened first meeting of City Advisory Board of Childline in his office chamber to uplift the socio-economic condition of the marginalized and excluded children in Jammu city.
Hirdesh expressed his happiness over the achievements made by the team of Childline, Jammu and formally constituted the City Advisory Board comprising of Nodal Director, Dr. Poonam Dhawan, Collaborative Director Mr. Dinesh Gupta, GM-BSNL, DTM-Railways, Municipal Commissioner,SSP, Joint Director Information, DSWO, CEO,CMO and PO(ICDS). The main function of the Board will be monitoring the quality of service provided by CHILDLINE in the city, ensuring there is co-ordination between government departments and NGOs in responding the cause of children in need of care and protection; taking measuring to ensure that there are adequate services in the city for care and protection of children in need and suggesting measures to address problem and issues faced Childline. |
