Salaries of 6 teachers stopped for unauthorized absent from duty
10/12/2018 10:19:49 PM
Early Times Report
Rajouri, Oct 12: Zonal Education Officer here at Thanamandi has stopped the salaries of six government teachers for remaining on an unauthorized absent from their duties .
After several complaints about the frequent absent of teachers in the government schools in Thanaamndi education zone, the in-charge ZEO, AQ Nadvi paid surprise visit to government primary school at lower Bhangai and middle school at Birthpuri and found 6 teachers on unauthorized absent.
As the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) was in force in the district due to urban local bodies (ULBs) elections it was found that the headmistress of middle school had sanctioned leave in favour of four teachers.
In-charge ZEO has sought explanation from the headmistress for treating four teachers on leave and salaries of all the four teachers have been stopped from October month by him.
At primary school at lower Bhangai the in-charge ZEO found only 2 students present in the school out of 14 enrolled in the school while out of three teachers two were absent from duty.
He has also sought explanation from the two absentee teachers within two days and has also brought the matter in the notice of Chief Education Officer (CEO) for further action in both the cases.
Parents/people in their complaints to senior education officials including CEO and ZEOs have resented unauthorised absent of government teachers from the schools and for poor academic standard of their wards due to lackadaisical attitude of the teachers towards their official duties.
The teacher whose salaries have been stopped were identified as Tanzeel Firdouse, Nusrat Khurshid, Sameena Anjum & Gulshan Amin ( middle school) and Tahira Anjum and Waqar-un-Nisa from primary school.
