Viraj Kala Kendra celebrates annual day

JAMMU, Oct 12: Viraj Kala Kendra (VKK), Jammu celebrated Annual Function at Viraj Bal Bhavan School, Khanpur, Nagrota. Sh. I D Soni, Commissioner, J&K Association of Bharat Scouts & Guides was the chief guest. Sh. R C Puri, former Secretary, Indian Red Cross, Jammu was the guest of honour on this occasion. The function was dedicated to Mahatama Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri, whose birthdays were celebrated recently. The guests paid floral tributes to both the great personalities.
A value based programme of cultural items like patriotic songs, skit and dances on patriotic song numbers was presented on this occasion by the children. The programme was appreciated by the dignitaries and the guests present on this occasion.
It may be mentioned here that the Viraj Bal Bhavan School is being run by Smt. Raj Bharti, President Viraj Kala Kendra to educate the children from slum areas and the children of downtrodden families free of cost. The books, uniform and other accessories are given to the students free of any cost and without charging any fee. Prof. Rita Jitendra was remembered during the programme and a silent prayer was conducted for the peace of the departed soul. In his address I D Soni spoke on the teachings of the great people like Gandhi Ji, Lal Bahadur Shastri and Vivekanand, their life and teachings as role models of the society. Vote of Thanks was extended by Sarla Kohli, Vice- President, Viraj Kala Kendra, Jammu.
