Jammu, Oct 12: Lt Gen Paramjit Singh, assumed command of the elite White Knight Corps from Lt Gen Saranjeet Singh. Lt Gen Paramjit Singh, was commissioned in Jun 1982 into 2nd Battalion of the Madras Regiment. The General Officer converted to PARA Regiment in Jan 1984. He is an alumnus of DSSC, Wellington, Army War College, Mhow and National Defence College, New Delhi. He is well versed with the terrain and existing operational dynamics of the entire Jammu & Kashmir having commanded a PARA Regiment during OP Parakram, Siachin Brigade and Vajra Division. The General officer has held various operational and staff appointments in field formations in the valley to include the important appointments of Colonel General Staff (Operations) of Vajr Division at Kupwara, Brigade General Staff (Operations) of Headquarters 15 Corps, Major General General Staff at Headquarters Northern Command. He has been an instructor at IMA, Dehradun and Army War College, Mhow and at Army Training Team in Botswana. |
