Prof Aima inaugurates 2-days Skill Development Art, Craft Mela at GCW Parade

JAMMU, Oct 12: As a part of 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Prof Ashok Aima Vice Chancellor Central University today inaugurated 2-days Skill Development Art and Craft Mela in the premises of Government College of Women, Parade (GCW).
The 2-days Skill Development Art and Craft Mela mela was organized by Government College of Women, Parade in collaboration with Buddha Art Gallery. Principal GCW Parade Prof. (Dr.) Hemla Aggarwal, Social Activist Prof. Ved Ghai, Principal GGM Science College Prof Satiender Singh, Principal GCW Gandhi Nagar Prof Kousam Samotra besides other senior officers of GCW Parade, Buddha Art Gallery and students in large numbers were present on the occasion and witnessed the mela.
Addressing a large gathering, Prof Ashok Aima said that such type of melas would educate the students about the life history of Mahatma Gandhi jee. He said that main objective of the mela is to provide the students with an environment in which purposeful creative activities will flourish to demonstrate them mastery in aesthetics and display of fine arts and crafts by experts and students. Highlighting the life history of Mahatma Gandhi Jee, Prof Aima informed that Gandhi jee throughout his long public life in variably insisted on use of better and higher skills for working in which ever task or field he happened to be concerned with any time. He believed in constant and continuous learning process including experimentation, keeping the ideal as a goal by also knowing that human beings must always keep improving and rising in their skills but can never attain absolute perfection hence, he also called himself a 'practical idealist' going from truth to truth. He himself practiced the pursuit of skill of whatever he did even more than he told others to do.
