Hotel Manager arrested after links established with thief

Jammu, Oct 12: In continuation to the theft case solved by PS Bhawan, police arrested Hotel Manager for connivance with the thief.
Pertinent to mention that on the intervening night of 7/8-10-2018 complainant Arun Kumar son of Sham Lal Chourasiya resident of Karghar, Rohtas Bihar lodged a written report in P/S Bhawan that he alongwith Mithlesh Singh son of Bhagwan Singh resident of Samhuta, Kaimur, Bihar and family members had come to Mata Vaishno Devi Bhawan for darshan and had put their luggage alongwith valuables near bathing ghat and went for taking bath. When they returned back, they found cash Rs 1000/- and mobile REDMI MI of the complainant and cash Rs.14000/- and Mobile Intex of Mithlesh had been stolen by a thief from the bag and had decamped away. On this information case FIR No. 09/2018 u/s 379 RPC registered. During the course of investigation the I/O of the case arrested one Gurpreet Kaur wife of Jaspal Singh (27) yrs resident of Majeetha Road Amritsar from Battery car point and recovered the stolen articles from her possession. During the interrogation the accused confessed that she has hired a room at Guest House Vivek Inn, Railway Road Katra without any identity proof by paying Rs 200 to the manager of Guest House namely Uttam Singh son of Man Chand resident of Thakrai, Ramnagar, Udhampur who put forth the condition that he will charge Rs. 1200/- instead of Rs. 600/- because she is not having identity proof. On this disclosure the Guest House was raided by the I/O and seized the record of the Guest House and after getting enough evidence against the manager of the Guest House regarding his connivance with the accused he was also arrested. The challan of the case has been produced in the court of law on 11/08/2018. The court has denied the bail to both the accused and directed the police to lodge them to district jail Udhampur and fixed next date of hearing 23/10/2018.
