Jammu | Mar 15
Members of Saryara community, residing in Bahu locality for last 200 years have urged upon the state government to waive off fee fixed under the Roshni Act.
Addressing a press conference here today general secretary of Saryara Sabha (SS), SK Shavotra said that it is very unfortunate that the municipal corporator of ward 47 is issuing false and baseless statements regarding the development work done in the ward. He further said that for the last year no development work has been executed in the ward by the corporator and as the result the condition of lanes and drains is worstly affected.
The sabha further urged upon the authorities to recognize the community members under the category of schedule caste under SRO-294 as the government had also issued an order in this regard, some years ago.
Among others who spoke during the conference were, Banarsi Lal Panjotra, Pritam Chand, Mulkh Raj, Puran Sarogta, Brij Mohan, Chaman Lal and Roop Chand.
