SRINAGAR, Oct 15: Continuing with the efforts to provide progression opportunities to the police personnel and remove stagnation, promotion orders of 337 J&K police personnel in different cadres and ranks have been issued by PHQ and ZPHQ Jammu/ Srinagar. The promoted personnel include 32 Inspectors, 295 Sub. Inspectors, three ASIs and seven Head Constables. 20 SIs(M),12 SIs(S), 9 ASIs(Tel), three ASIs(Photo), one ASI(s),two HCs(M) and seven Sg.Cts(M) are among the promoted personnel of different cadres of J&K Police. 140 ASIs of Executive police are from Kashmir Zone and 142 are from Jammu Zone. Earlier, promotion orders of 1850 personnel in different ranks were issued by the department. The promotions are made on the recommendations of Departmental Promotion Committees constituted for the purpose at different levels. Directions have been issued to all zone and wing heads to complete the proceedings and issue orders in horst possible time.
Meanwhile, DGP has sanctioned scholarships in favour of 62 wards of deceased Police personnel for the academic session 2018-19. An amount of Rs. 3,10,000/- scholarship have been sanctioned out of Central Police Welfare Fund for these students. Rs.5000/- each has been sanctioned in favour of school going children of deceased Police Personnel who have expired while in service due to natural or accidental deaths. The wards who have been provided scholarships are studying in different classes from Primary to graduation level. |
