Erring shopkeepers responsible for littering fined in Kishtwar

KISHTWAR, Oct 15: In its ardent effort to maintain cleanliness and sanitation in and around of Kishtwar town, Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar Angrez Singh Rana is himself monitoring and supervising the Swachhta activities wherein he has already ordered Authorities of Municipal Committee, Kishtwar to impose fine against erring shopkeepers responsible for littering.
Abiding the directions of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, authorities of MC Kishtwar imposed fine against number of erring Shopkeepers who were found responsible for littering. The said drive regarding Imposition of fine started on 4th October, 2018 during the personal visit of Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar in the main market of Kishtwar along its surrounding areas.
Continuing its drive, authorities of MC Kishtwar today imposed fine of Rs 1800 against defaulting shopkeepers and the shopkeepers were cautioned to strictly maintain cleanliness and behave like a responsible and prudent shopkeeper by not spreading waste material on roads and drains.
Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar stated that as an initiative to keep the town clean and green, the Municipal Committee shall keep a close watch over the activities of such shopkeepers and shall impose fine accordingly. The said drive shall remain in force till the shopkeepers may not realize the importance of sanitation and hygiene and stops openly throwing waste materials on roads.
