| Schools have vital role to develop human resources: Saroori | | | Early Times Reporter Rajouri | Mar 17 Himalayan Education Mission (HEM) under the aegis of Himalayan Education Society today held a colourful function to mark the end of its week long Silver Jubilee celebrations. Minister of State for School Education Mr. G. M. Saroori was chief guest at the function, which among others was also attended by Vice Chairman Pahari Advisory Board Mr. Shabir Ahmad Khan, MLA Poonch and Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Mr. Rafiq Ahmad Sheikh. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister hailed the management of Himalayan Education Mission for providing quality education avenues to the youth of land locked Rajouri district. He said institutions like HEM were greatly needed in the state to develop human resources for speedier progress of Jammu and Kashmir. "As the job markets are increasingly becoming competitive it is necessary to build a strong base of premier educational institutions to equip youth to face global challenges", Saroori said adding government was also endeavoring for strengthening network of schools and in this regard referred to opening of scores of schools, colleges and universities in the state. Earlier, founder of the Mission Mr. Farooq Muzatar, giving resume of the activities informed that HEM has established a network of schools including a degree college and B.Ed college in the district to cater to varied educational needs of students. He said the mission has been focusing on nurturing the regional culture besides imparting quality education to the students of the area. He cited many examples of the products of his schools who have carved niche at national and international level. |
