| ‘J&K Govt mulls more job-oriented courses in colleges’ | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Mar 17 The Jammu and Kashmir government is planning to introduce more job-oriented courses besides using modern technology like e-netoworking, online education and virtual classrooms in colleges to come out with quality human resources. Minister for Higher Education Gulchain Singh Charak said today that government as already started job-oriented courses in colleges including fisheries, jouranlism, BBA, tourism, bio-chemistry, bio-technology, information technology, computer science, video editing and sericulture. Addressing the annual day-cum-prize distribution function at a college at Reas1, he said "if we want to compete with the emerging globalized world, the right initiatives and introduction of more job-oriented courses in colleges. Charak said expansion of higher education in the state was almost complete by the setting up of 40 new colleges and university campuses in far-flung areas. |
