| Operation theatres, OPD functioning suffered | | Medical Employees unions call on Health Minister | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Mar 17 Working in operation theatres and OPDs in varius hospitals suffered as ad hoc and contractual health employees remained on strike for the sixth consecutive day here today. According to a release issued by the employees, the work remained suspended in OPDs and operation theatres. Meanwhile, minister for Health and Medical Education, Mr. Mangat Ram Sharma has said that all genuine demands of the employees of Health and Medical Education department would be looked into and addressed in due course of time. He called upon them to render their duties with devotion and dedication so that the patients do not feel difficulties. The Minister was speaking in a meeting held between the officers of Health and Medical Education department and representatives of J&K Medical Employees Federation and J&K Medical Education Employees Association here today. Secretary Health and Medical Education Mr. K. B. Jandial, Principal GMC Jammu Dr. Rajinder Singh and Director Health Services Jammu, General Secretaries JK MEF and JK MEA attended the meeting. The Health Minister appealed the employees to call off the strike. He said steps for enhancement of wages to contractual and consolidated employees were under active consideration of the government. |
