The state cabinet is meeting here tomorrow evening under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad with some major policy matters on the agenda. Strike of employees, particularly those of SRTC, anomalies in the wages of contractual workers are reported to be some of the major agenda points, said the sources. The meeting will be held at 6PM and earlier in the day the Chief Minister is scheduled to address a public meeting in Peeri village of Darhal constituency in district Rajouri.
Sources said that enhancement of retirement age of the government employees from 58 years to 60 years is also a point on agenda as cabinet may also consider release of Dearness Allowance to the employees. Regularization of daily waged workers in some departments is also likely to come up for discussion.
It is learnt that the cabinet would discuss the future course of action on the recruitment policy to make it fast track. The ongoing recruitment has been put on hold which has already earned the government the opposition’s ire.
