Pakistan constructs more concrete bunkers along LoC

Poonch | Mar 18
The army has once again cautioned Government of India about the fresh construction of concrete bunkers by Pakistan Rangers along the Line of Control, where the troops on both sides have been observing complete ceasefire from last more than four years.
If the sources are to be believed, Indian army has recently reported that Pakistan Rangers were constructing concrete bunkers at Khokhri, Pisbaba and Bhadur posts of Dhagwar therdwa in Poonch district, which according to them was of serious consequences. Reliable sources quoting intelligence inputs told News Agency of Kashmir that heavy movement of machineries and construction material is being witnessed on the other side of the LoC, which has is adding to the suspicion of the intelligence agencies.
Intelligence inputs, which sources claim are also available with police and army, said that Pak Rangers were involved in the construction of concrete and underground bunkers along the LoC.
However an army officer, preferring anonymity, told NAK that they were keeping a close vigil on the movement of Pak Rangers. "Every movement is being watched and even senior officers have been informed about the activities taking place on other side of the border", he said.
Though the accusation on Pakistan army about misusing the ceasefire is not new as government of India had earlier in 2004 blamed its neighbouring country of constructing concrete bunkers along the border. However, sources said, the work was stopped than in view of the international pressure.
India-Pakistan which has fought several wars including latest `unofficial war' in Kargil announced a bi-lateral seize fire in 2003 giving a relief to the villagers living along the borders on both sides. Both the countries claim their rights over Kashmir and peace talks are underway to solve the issue once for all.
Construction of underground concreted bunkers at LoC on other side has put all security agencies on tender hooks.
