| HR Forum demands clemency to Sarbjit | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Mar 19 The State Human Rights Forum, on human considerations, has demanded clemency to Sarbjit Singh, who is to be hanged on in Pakistan. The Forum taking into account the peace process between the two neighboring countries and emotional outburst of millions of people of the country has appealed the Pakistan Government, particularly President Musharaff to grant clemency to Sarbjit for the broader good of the sub-continent as a whole and for the twin countries in general. Secretary General of the Forum Deepika Mahajan in a statement issued today has said that granting clemency to Sarbjit will definitely have positive impact on the minds of the Indians and will more fillip to the peace process. Moreover, it will help resolve the most contentious issues between the two nations, the statement said adding that ‘our forum stands for his clemency and hope that President Musharaf will give due consideration to our appeal’. |
