Security Forces today claimed to have killed four Lashker Toiba (LeT) militants including district commander of the outfit in far off Gandoh area of Doda district.
A Defense spokesman, S.D. Goswami said that on specific information about presence of some militants in the village troops of 26 RR and 159 TA Bn rushed towards the target place and laid a cordon.
As the security forces were cordoning off the area, they came under heavy fire, which was equally retaliated by them, he said. In the ensuing gun battle, which lasted for about two hours, four militants of LeT including one Pakistani National were gunned down, the spokesman added.
Four AK 47 Rifles, one Pikka gun, four Chinese Grenades and other war like stores were recovered from the slain militants, the spokesman said..
The slain militants have been identified as Imtiaz Ahmed alias Abudarah District Commander, LeT, Abu Sageer, a Pak national Mehnawaz and Sadam. |
