| Jagriti Yatra arriving on April 4 | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Mar 19 The Jagriti Yatra to mark birth centenary celebration of Guru Granth Sahib, which was started from the holy takht of Shri Hazur Sahib, Nanded in Maharashtra in Oct 2007 is reported to come to the state on April 4. This was stated by the members of various Sikh organizations while addressing a joint press conference here today. Speaking on the occasion, Amrik Singh said that the yatra has been flagged off from Nanded and till date has covered various states. After arriving in Jammu, it would stay here for two days and will leave on April 7 for Amritsar Sahib. The main aim behind the yatra is to make the people aware about the teachings of Gugu Nanak Dev and Guru Govind Singh Ji. Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad is likely to officially welcome the yatra, Amrik informed. He asked the people of state to participate in the historic event and be a part of the holy yatra. Among who addressed the media were Makhan Singh, Jarinail Singh, Hazara Singh and Davinder Singh. |
