| MEF, MEA calls off strike on minister assurance | | | Early Times Reporter

The strike of the Jammu and Kashmir Medical Employees Association (MEA) and Medical Employee’s Federation (MEF), was called off today, after the assurance of minister assurance here today. As on the invitation of minister of health and medical education, Mangat Ram Sharma a delegation comprising the presidents of both associations hold a meet. During the meet, Sharma agreed for fulfilling some important demands of the associations including the regularization of consolidated contractual and adhoc medical employees to provide them basic pay. And to pay 2½ days salary for performing roster duties. While after the meet, the employees leaders appeal to the agitating employees to resume their work with dedication for the smooth functioning of the health institution. Among others who participate during the meet were, Baldev Nargotra, Vinood Sharma, Bishan Verma, Ashok Manhas, Garu Ram and Gurminder Raina.
