| Malik demands Urdu Academy for J&K | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Mar 20 Prof. Shoab Inayat Malik, Head of the Urdu Department, Jammu University demanded Urdu Academy for Jammu and Kashmir State here today while speaking in a press conference organized by National Students Welfare Association (NSWA) to felicitate him and G.H. Imrapur, Asst. Regional Director IGNOU for their services in the respective field. The later was also given a warm send off. MLC Doda, Mohd Sharief Niaz was the chief guest on the occasion. Prof. Malik further said that the J&K State is the only Sate of India where Urdu is an official Language yet it is without Urdu Academy while as some other states have already got the Academy for the development of the Language. The Chairman, NSWA, Sadaket Malik said that the Association is honoring the services of the teachers and academicians, social and human rights activists every year and he focused on the achievements of Prof. Malik and G. H. Imrapur for their outstanding contribution in the field of education and society. In his presidential address Sharief Naz said that the youth should come forward to contribute for making cohesive social order. Govt. of India and the State government has envisaged several schemes for the youth empowerment and suggested that they should avail the self employment schemes. Other who spoke on the occasion included Raja Showket, Dr. Zubair, Firdous Malik and Mohd Imran Tak etc.
