| NKJA condemns attack on scribe | | | Early Times Reporter Baramulla | Mar 20 Journalist fraternity of North Kashmir 'North Kashmir Journalists Association' (NKJA) has condemned the attack on cameraman who was allegedly attacked by doctors while recording the grievances of patients in Government Hospital here in North Kashmir District Bandipora Journalists of North Kashmir Baramulla have expressed their concern and solidarity with the cameraman, Parvaiz Ahmed and termed the attack an attempt to undermine the freedom of press. "This is very unfortunate incident, police and administration must ensure the action against the erring doctors, we will take up the matter with higher authorities of health department," said North Kashmir Journalists President Reyaz Ahmed Ganai. Pertinent to mention here that the cameraman Haji Parvez Ahmed of Bandipora representing ZEE KASHMIR-a regional TV Channel was attacked by doctors and Medical assistants of the District Hospital Bandipora, when he was recording grievances of the patients in the Hospital Chief Medical Officer Bandipora, Ghulam Mohuiddin Wani said, "Our BMO is absent from duty for the past three weeks. Some hooligan doctors and assistants attacked the cameraman. This is an offence." Ahmed has filed a complaint before districts administration and in police station. "I will punish the people responsible for this incident," Wani said. Meanwhile, police registered a case under FIR No 45/2008 under section 379 and 427 of the RPC at Police Station Bandipora against the doctors for assaulting the cameraman.
