| KVK vocational training on Mushroom cultivation conclude | | | Early Times Reporter Rajouri | Mar 20 A week long vocational training on “mushroom cultivation” organized from March 14 by Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Rajouri under the aegis of Directorate of Extension Education of SKUAST- Jammu and in collaboration with Water Management Research Centre, FOA, Chatha concluded here today. About 25 unemployed rural youths were imparted training on cultivation of mushroom. Training was conducted under the guidance of mushroom experts of SKUAST-J and the trainee youths were oriented on various aspects of mushroom cultivation such as types of edible mushrooms, their spawning and composting techniques and disease of mushrooms and their management through informative lectures, field visits and practical demonstration, etc and to inculcate the mushroom cultivation skill in the youths so that they can take it up as an enterprise. Dr. B.C. Sharma, Programme Coordinator, KVK exhorted the trainees to make best use of knowledge they have acquired. At the end all the trainees were given implements of worth use in mushroom cultivation under ICAR sponsored project on “Scaling up of Water Productivity through teaching cum Demonstration”. Dr. S. K. Sudan, SMS, Horticulture thanked the participants for their keen interest.
