| Mangat appeals Paramedicos to end strike. | | |

The Minister for Health and Medical Education Pt. Mangat Ram Sharma today appealed to the striking consolidated paramedical staff of GMC Jammu to call of their strike and assured them that their cases for regularization would be recommended to the Cabinet Sub Committee setup for the purpose and GAD for favourable consideration along with adhoc and contractual employees of other Departments.
He said that these consolidated employees would be treated as contractual employees under SRO-255.
The Minister was talking to the representatives of the striking paramedical staff of the GMC Jammu who called on him here this morning.
The Minister also issued instructions that those consolidated, contractual staff who are put on roaster duty, be also given the benefit two and half day wages as per the prevailing Government order.
The Minister urged the striking employees to call off their strike and attend to the patient care immediately, which is of paramount importance for all of us. He expressed the hope that employees of the hospital should not resort to strikes as it affects the patient care.
The deputation which was led by Pardeep Kumar assured the Minister that they would call off their strike on assurance of the Health Minister.
