55 Kg charas worth Rs. 20 lakhs recovered, 3 held

During routine Naka checking at Police Post Mansar by Incharge PP Mansar, SI Sanjiv Chib, one Tata Seera vehicle bearing registration No. GJ-0K 8777 carrying three inmates, all hailing from Gujrat state was stopped for checking. On questioning the inmates about their whereabouts, they replied that they were doing the business of Onion and Potatoes and simultaneously fled away towards Mansar Village leaving behind the vehicle at Naka point itself. The Incharge PP along with available manpower chased them very hard and also alerted the villagers as well as the VDC members who laid a strong cordona dn all the three were trapped and picked up by the Incharge PP. Meanwhile, additional re-enforcement along with DY. SP Dar Ajay Sharma also reached the spot along with the undersigned and after pro-longed grilling, the inmates namely Mohd Zakar S/o Abdul Star ages 35 yrs r/o Mirzapur Ahmedabad, Gujarat, who happened to be the kingpin. Mohd. Shrief S/o Hussain Bhai age 35 yrs r/o Shahpur Ahmedabad, Gujarat and Naseer Syed S/o Mohd. Mian age 25 yrs r/o Surat, Gujrat disclosed that it was their second visit to J&K state. Previously, they had came in the month of Jan 2008 to meet one lady namely Daissy at Khanabal Chowk Anantnag who used to supply the narcotic to the interested parties. They further disclosed that the vehicles along with consignment was meant for one Abid Bhai of Gujarat who had to collect the same at Sabzi Mandi Azadpur, New Delhi. On their disclosures, a thorough search of the vehicle was got conducted by Dy. SP Dar which revealed that there were two superficial tunnels especially designed for smuggling of narcotigon each side of the front window. The search further resulted in the recovery of 34 packets of fine charas weighing approximately 55 Kgs with its value in the open market as 20 lakhs and more in the International Market. All the three persons were immediately arrested consignment along with vehicle was seized by Dy. SP Dar under the supervision of SSP Samba, Rajinder Gupta a case in this regard stands registered in Police Station Samba under NDPS Act. Pertinent to mention here that this is the second highest hall of Narcotic recovered by Incharge PP Mansar within two days.
