Mehbooba had accused the Central Government-controlled electronic media of being brazenly biased towards her party as "authorities were not only ensuring bare minimum coverage of the PDP functions and public meetings, but these institutions have, shockingly, also become a party to the anti-PDP propaganda". The figures also speak contrary to the claims of Mehbooba. Radio Kashmir's Deputy Director (News) Gurjeet Malik said that the radio has aired news items of PDP leaders 452 times in last about 20 days. "The news items comprised about 30,000 words and exclude voice-over stories", she said adding, "If we include the Voice-Over too the total words exceeds 60,000". She said that the officials in the organisation were trying to justify the coverage of all the political parties in a short span news bulletins and other related programmes. |
