| PM, Mush may meet at NAM summit | | | New Delhi | August 27
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh met the Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan and Foreign Secretary Shyam Saran on Saturday for a discussion on the upcoming NAM summit. Singh will attend the NAM Summit to be held in Havana on September 15-16. Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf will also be attending the Summit and it is possible that the two leaders could hold a meeting to be on sidelines of the summit. They said meeting would take place in the backdrop of war of words and freeze on the two-year-old dialogue process in the aftermath of July 11 Mumbai serial blasts. The meeting would provide an opportunity for airing of India's concerns at the highest level with regard to continued cross-border terrorism. New Delhi has expressed disappointment over the fact that Islamabad has not dismantled the terror infrastructure existing on territories under its control despite giving assurances two years back. Before meeting the Prime Minister, Saran held consultations with regard to the NAM preparations with senior officials of his ministry. |
