NC demands judicial probe by sitting High Court judge

KISHTWAR, Nov 9: National Conference today demanded Judicial probe by a sitting High Court judge in the killings of Parihar brothers.
Speaking to Early Times, District Secretary National Conference Shabir Ahmed Kamal said that the entire Kishtwar is in state of shock over the brutal killings of BJP State Secretary Anil Parihar and his brother Ajeet Parihar who was shot dead by some unidentified gunmen in the heart of Kishtwar town and called for a probe through sitting judge of High Court so that the doubts in the minds of the common people of Kishtwar with regard to killings of both the brothers could be cleared. He also urged upon the Governor Satya Pal Malik to probe the case on political involvement lines as well since there were apprehensions of some political conspiracy behind the killings. He said that Parihar brothers were considered as secular face who were always at fore front with regard to promoting peace and communal harmony in Kishtwar District even during peak militancy era. He said that he had forty year long association with Anil Parihar and his family added that they started the political carrier together and said that even during peak militancy era, no one was able to target him.
He said that though his and deceased Anil Parihar has different political views and ideology, but as and when the name Kishtwar comes, he was ready for the cause without any politics. He said that since 1993, the selective political killings took place in Kishtwar District, but no one till date was punished by the law enforcing agencies. He said that he is hopeful that culprits will be brought to justice. He also prayed for the peace to the departed souls.
