Drug peddler held with 60 gram heroin

Jammu, Nov 9: In continuation to the drive against drugs launched by SSP Jammu-Vivek Gupta, today a major success was achieved by Gangyal police when one drug peddler was apprehended and seized 60 gm heroin from his possession.
Police spokesman said that today a routine naka was established at forest Chowk NHW when one alto car bearing registration no CHO3W-0475, which was coming from Bari Brahmana towards Gangyal was signalled to stop but the driver of the vehicle has tried to flee from the spot, but was stopped after chased by the alert cops", said spokesman adding that on questioning the driver disclosed his name as Inderjeet Singh of Rakh Arnia presently staying at Kothi Morh Bari Brahmana.
Spokesman further said thay during his personnel search heroin weighing 60 gram was recovered from his possession.
On further questioning he disclosed that he has brought the consignment from Delhi and selling drugs among the youth and ruining the society in and around Jammu city, said spokesman.
In this regard a case under FIR No 87/2018 under section 8/21/22/ NDPS Act has registered at Gangyal police station.
More recoveries are expected as there is every possibility of involvement of more persons.
The arrest was made by SI Nayat Ali-SHO Gangyal and SI Vicky Thapa-incharge police post Greater Kailash under the close supervision of SDPO City South Jammu-Dr. Sunniya Ashkoor Wani and SP South-Vinay Sharma.
