Simi Sharma of Indian Reserve Police (IRP) 2nd battalion today emerged as most successful athlete winning five gold medals in the field and track events of athletics in the ongoing Annual Inter-Battalion Sports Meet of Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police at different venues here.
Beginning with sprint gold, Simi won first place in 200 meters and 400 meters races. She added two more gold medals to the tally of IRP 2nd winning the field events of Long Jump and Discuss Throw today. Among other gold medal winners in today’s women athletics events were Jabeena of JKAP 6th, Madhu Bala, Razia Begam, Arti Sharma of IRP 2nd, Jyoti of JKAP 12th and Anju Bala of IRP 2nd.
Meanwhile, semi-finals line up has been drawn in men’s hockey with JKAP 12th, JKAP 8th, IRP 7th and IRP 3rd making it into the last four stages. Now, in the semi-final, to be played tomorrow, JKAP 12th shall take on JKAP 8th while IRP 7th shall be playing against IRP 3rd.
