CB presents challan against CADP officials/ dealers
Rs. 13 lakh loss caused to state exchequer

Crime Branch today produced challan gainst CADP officials and dealers for causing a loss of Rs.13 lakhs to the state exchequer by selling monthly quota of ration at exorbitant rates in the open market.
Acting on a complaint registered under FIR 35/2006 u/s 3/7 of EC Act alleging therein that CADP officials and Dealers of Thathi Doda were indulging in selling government ration to private shopkeepers of Prem Nagar area the Police took up the investigation.
The accused involved have been identified as Bharat Bushan, Hari Om, Nayamat Ali, Vinay Kumar, Tarseem Lal,Sukh Ram store keepers/ dealers CADP.
During the course of investigation Thathri Police along with Tehsilder concerned visited Prem Nagar and found a truck loaded with wheat bags of CADP department and was being uploaded at a private shop illegally. Besides, Rice and sugar of the Departmental store was also found dumped illegally at Thatri which was seized by the local police in presence of the executive magistrate.
The Crime Branch which was assigned the case for in depth investigation at the later stage seized all the connected records of store keepers of CADP and recorded the statements of the prosecution witnesses besides conducting physical verification of the store.
The investigation revealed that the CADP officials in connivance with concerned store keepers, after collecting monthly ration quota of various categories from the CADP stores for its distribution to genuine people, were selling the same to the private shop keepers on exorbitant rates causing a loss of Rs.13 lakh to the state exchequer and depriving the genuine rationees of their rights.
Prima facie establishing case u/s 409/120-B/ RPC, the Crime Branch presented charge sheet against the accused in the court of law for judicial determination.
