| AIDS society organizes awareness camp | | | Early Times Reporter

Jammu and Kashmir State AIDS Prevention and Control Society in collaboration with Hill Area Welfare Society and New Women Development Society organized AIDS Awareness Programme at Patyanali, Suzatpur, block Marh here today.
Minister of State for Health and Medical Education Peer Mohammad Hussain was the chief guest on the occasion.
The Minister underscored the need of combating the menace of AIDS by united efforts of one and all. He emphasized the need of tackling the problems of the infected people with care and compassion. He appealed all the adolescent youth to come forward and have education of AIDS and also educate the society
He appreciated the role of Hill Area Welfare Society and State AIDS Control Society in organizing AIDS Awareness programme especially in rural areas and also asked other NGOs to come forward to join hands with the society and talk openly without any hesitation about sensitive issues related to HIV/AIDS.
Project Director J&K State AIDS Control Society Dr. M. A. Wani highlighted the different aspects of HIV/AIDS and various awareness programs of the society. He informed that AIDS is a challenge that needs coordinated efforts of people from all walks of life. Important aspects like, how it spreads and how it does not and different myths related to HIV/AIDS were clarified. |
