| Non-camp KP militancy victims blame govt. for ignoring them | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Mar 25 The entire exercise of Government to provide better accommodation to the Kashmiri migrants seems to have gone waste as the former has totally ignored the claims of the non- camp families, who were direct victims of militancy. Over fifteen families who lost their kiths and kins to the bullets of the militants have been totally ignored while allotting tenement accommodation recently. Over 300 families were provided newly constructed two room tenements at Muthi and Purkoo areas while, none of the victim families residing outside the camps figured in the list. "Government ignored our claim simply because we live outside the camp and have built our own houses by utilizing the compensation given to us" said Sanjay Kumar who is living in a joint family." How could I accommodate myself after getting married as the house which we are presently living in is quite insufficient to accommodate the families of my brother, mine and my old aged mother" he added. "Government should have looked into their claim as the children of those killed by the militants have grown up and the houses in which they are living as joint families do not suffice their future needs", said a KP leader. The families had made frequent representations to the concerned authorities but none of them was allotted the flats on the plea that they have their own house, added Sanjay Kumar. |
