| Doubts over chili theory as bank robbed of Rs 10 lakhs | | | Early Times Reporter Rajouri | Mar 25 The Police are suspecting an inside hand as a branch of Jammu and Kashmir Bank was robbed off of Rs 10 lakhs in Thannamandi Township of this district. The Bank officials claimed that an unidentified person looted more than Rs 10 lakh cash from the Jammu and Kashmir Bank branch at Thannamandi in this district today. No one was aware of the loot till cashier of the branch Khadim Hussain was found unconscious outside the strong room of the branch. Ironically, guard posted outside the branch had not found anything suspicious or recorded entry of some unidentified person fleeing after the loot. When the local police arrived on the spot they found cashier of the branch in an unconscious state of mind lying outside the strong room of the branch, The doors of the strong room were found open, police sources said. Official sources said bank robbers had used red chilli powder to blind the cashier before fleeing from the branch Police has registered the case and investigations were going on to ascertain the identity of those behind the loot. Involvement of some bank employees behind the loot cannot be ruled out, police said. |
