Subscribers in lurch as BSNL services remain snapped

MENDHAR, Nov 17: India's largest telecom services provider, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), is giving nightmares to its subscribers in most areas of Poonch district with mobile connectivity lying snapped in Mendhar Mankote and Balakote areas for one week
Services of the state-owned Telecom Company in Mendhar area also lie disconnected for the last one of weeks.
Locals said from Mendhar area informed that one week back BSNL services got snapped in the area leaving people in a state of the lurch. They said that services are yet to be restored "and the concerned officers were approached by but nothing has been done on the ground.
Local BSNL Users Imran Ahmed Rakesh Gupta and many others said that they are using BSNL mobile communication for last one week and now complete snapping of services has put them in a state of helplessness. "We have to use telephones of other people to get in contact with our near ones", they said.
Meanwhile, government offices, traders and educational institutions are facing a lot of hardships due to snapping of BSNL services including its mobile, landline and internet services.
On the other hand, residents of Mendha Mankote and Balakote belts of Poonch district Said that the connectivity of BSNL is lying snapped in their areas since last one week
"Services are lying snapped since one week Social worker Raja Waseem Khan claimed that people of the area are switching over to other telecom operators, which could spell doom for the already beleaguered operator. "The issue was put up with concerned officers, on government and political level from time to time but no concrete step has yet been taken to resume the services", the locals said.
Attempts to contact BSNL officers could not fructify owing lack of response on their part to repeated telephone calls.
When contacted SDM Mendhar Mohammad Afzal Mirza Said that he will seek details from BSNL authorities on the issue.
