| People of Kandi village without water for last one month | | |

Mendhar, Nov 18: The villagers from Kandi Gultha area of Harni in Mendhar Sub Division are facing water crisis for the last more than one month now. The villagers from Bandhia Mohalla of Kandi Gultha alleged that PHE water supply pipes to the village have been broken by some anti-social elements. "Most of the pipes have been laid at the upper surface of the earth at the village and have not laid underground by the department. Some people have broken the pipes disrupting the water supply to about 50 families for last more than one month," they said. Arif Khan, a Social Worker of the area alleged that the matter was brought to the notice of concerned JE and also AEE PHE Mendhar, but they have also failed to restore water supply. He appealed the Deputy Commissioner, Poonch and SDM Mendhar to look into the matter and ensure essential services to the villagers. He warned stage protest at SDM office if the water supply is not restored within two days. |
