| Hit and run case: Accused arrested within 24 hours, truck seized | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 18: Batote police today claimed to have arredted an accused in hit and run case and also seized the truck.
Police spokesman said that yesterday at about 2040 hours an unknown truck hit a person namely Abdul Majid of Ganeter Teh & Distt Doda at Chanpa Batote and after hitting the victim truck driver ran away from the spot and the injured victim was brought to CHC Batote from where had been referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu and on way to Jammu the injured person succumbed due to internal injuries in the abdomen.
"After death, the body was brought to CHC Batote and after postmortem the body was handed over to legal heirs for last rites.
In the meanwhile, after hectic efforts of Batote police headed by SHO Batote, Inspector Nazir Ahmed assisted by SI Sumeet Sharma and ASI Harnam Singh police succeeded in tracing out truck bearing registration JK02CA-7116 involved in the accident and accused driver namely Mangal Dass of Nai Basti Satwari Jammu against whom a case under FIR NO 117/2018 under sections 279 and 304A of RPC has been registered at Batote police station.
The whole investigation to trace out the truck and accused driver is done under the close supervision of DySP Hq Ramban, Azgar Ali Malik, Add SP Ramban, Sanjay Parihar under the overall supervision of SSP Ramban Anita Sharma. |
