According to a notification issued by the government sanction has been accorded to constitution of Divisional Advisory Committees in the state to exercise the powers and functions conferred upon the Committees under Jammu and Kashmir Pre-conception and Pre-Natal Sex Selection/Determination (Prohibition and Regulation) Act 2002.
Chairperson of Advisory Committee for Kashmir division will be the senior most Paediatrician JLNM Hospital Srinagar and senior most Gynaecologist JLNM Hospital, Srinagar, Medical Geneticist Kashmir University Srinagar, Additional Advocate General, J&K High Court Srinagar Mr. M. A. Magray, Deputy Director Information, Kashmir , Mr. Zarief Ahmad Zarief Srinagar (social activist), Chairperson Help Foundation Saidakadal, Rajbagh Srinagar Mrs. Nighat Shafi, and Chairperson Chotay Trey, NGO Gogji Bagh, Srinagar Dr. Zahida Shah, as its members.
