| Court awards 54 months RI to robber | | | Early Times Reporter

3rd Additional Sessions Judge Jammu Mr. Sanjay Gupta today awarded four and a half years rigorous imprisonment to a robber Mohd Javed Sheikh s/o Sheikh Hamed r/o Tatar Pur, West Bengal ,who was arrested by the police on November 21, 2005 at Railway Station.
The accused in order to commit robbery on November 21, 2005 at Railway Station Taxi Stand at about 6:45 PM administered intoxicated drug to complainant Triveni Singh with the result complainant became unconscious. The accused decamped with Rs.14000 and a case was registered. After completing the investigation challan u/s 379/328/511 RPC was presented.
3rd Additional Sessions Judge, after hearing APP GS Charak appearing for the State and going through the case awarded three years rigorous imprisonment u/s 328 RPC and fine of Rs 2000 and u/s 379/511 RPC court further awarded RI one and half year and fine of Rs 500. Court, however, ordered that both the sentences shall run-concurrently. JNF |
