The 12th battalion of the Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police (JKAP) clinched three of the four team events decided today in women section while JKAP 8th battalion topped the medals tally in men’s boxing competition in the ongoing Inter-Battalion Sports Meet of Armed Police at different venues here.
In women section, JKAP 12th Bn won Handball, Kho-Kho and Tug of War titles beating the Indian Reserve Police (IRP) 2nd Bn in the finals today. However, IRP 2nd proved to be better side in the Kabaddi after they defeated the same opponent of JKAP 12th Bn by a comfortable margin.
The IRP 3rd Bn performed better in men’s team competitions winning two events of hockey and kabaddi.
In the men’s boxing competitions, JKAP 8th Bn secured eight (five gold and three silver) medals in the 11 different weight categories to top the medals tally. In women boxing, the IRP 2nd and JKAP 12th remained close in the final medals tally.
The wrestling competitions could not give a clear edge to any battalion, however, IRP 8th and JKAP 13th battalions had equal number of three medals each in the medals tally.
