| Mangat flags off elders’ trip to Haridwar | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Mar 29 Minister for Health and Medical Education, Pt. Mangat Ram Sharma today flagged off 4-day long pilgrimage trip of 22 inmates of Amphalla Old Age Home to Haridwar for holy dip in Ganga and other religious rites at Rishikesh. The pilgrimage trip of the senior citizens has been organized by Yatri Bhawan Jammu in collaboration with Old Age Home Amphalla which will also bear the expenditure for boarding and lodging. Speaking on the occasion Health Minister distributed Rs.200 to each yatri from his purse and expressed hope that the trip would give mental solace to the senior citizens. Sharma reminded the elders of the Social Welfare scheme under implementation in the state for old aged and urged them to get benefits of the scheme. He appreciated the management of the trust for providing selfless service to the society by caring the old-aged citizens. President Jammu Yatri Bhawan Pawan Shastri on the occasion said that more such pilgrimage trip would be organized by Yatri Bhawan for the deprived sections of the society for performing religious discourses at various places. |
